On October 25 and 29, 2024, Attorneys Lawrence Wang and Lee of the ACIES Team were invited to conduct training sessions on corporate legal affairs and the Anti-Unfair Competition Law for subsidiaries of Shenzhen Airport.
Attorney Lawrence Wang’s Session: Anti-Unfair Competition & IP Practices：
Attorney Wang’s training focused on the Anti-Unfair Competition Law and common intellectual property issues faced by enterprises. Drawing on his extensive litigation experience, he provided a detailed yet accessible overview of the law, covering both its foundational principles and specific unfair competition practices such as counterfeiting, trade secret misappropriation, false advertising, and business reputation defamation. He offered practical guidance on compliant operations and strategies to avoid unfair competition, also sharing key points for enforcing and protecting IP rights related to copyrights, trademarks, and patents.
Attorney Lee’s Session: Contract Management & New Company Law Updates：
Lee addressed two core topics in a single session: in the morning segment, he leveraged years of legal practice experience to deliver a case-based analysis of the full contract management lifecycle, exploring critical points from contract formation, performance, and modification to invalidation and termination—highlighting compliance essentials at each stage. In the afternoon, he shifted focus to non-competition restrictions, dissecting common disputes such as definition of restrictions, evidence collection, compensation structures, and penalty clauses; he also outlined the legislative context of the New Company Law, detailing key revisions to capital contribution systems, equity design frameworks, and corporate governance reforms to help participants navigate updated regulatory requirements and operational risks.
Both sessions combined legal expertise with real-world examples, equipping participants with actionable insights to strengthen legal risk management and compliance in their operations.
