On the afternoon of October 30, 2024, Attorney Lawrence Wang of the ACIES Team was invited to deliver a lecture titled "Building Trade Secret Protection Systems and Dispute Resolution for Enterprises" at the second phase of a legal compliance and risk management training program organized by the Legal Compliance Department of a central State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) for its internal teams.
In his session, Attorney Wang began by emphasizing that litigation should serve as the last resort for dispute resolution, noting its rigorous procedures and authority but also its high costs—advising enterprises to prioritize negotiation and other non-litigation methods first; he then highlighted that institutional capability, particularly in evidence collection and legal strategy implementation, forms the foundation of effective rights protection in litigation; finally, he explained that compliance is a strategic pathway to strengthening such capabilities, as compliant operations not only mitigate risks and enhance corporate credibility but also facilitate broader stakeholder support.
Attorney Wang’s professional presentation received widespread acclaim from participants. The training provided valuable insights to help the enterprise further enhance its legal compliance and risk management practices, as well as its capacity to protect trade secrets.
