On July 31, 2024, Attorney Lawrence Wang of the ACIES Team was invited to speak at the "Enterprise Trademark Licensing and Enforcement" symposium, guided by the Guangzhou Development District Intellectual Property Office, co-hosted by the Guangdong Trademark Association and Guangzhou Development District Intellectual Property Association, organized by some Guangdong enterprises, and supported by South China New Materials Innovation Park.
During his presentation, Attorney Wang provided an in-depth analysis of contractual risks and performance risks in trademark licensing, as well as strategies for criminal enforcement and administrative protection in trademark disputes. He emphasized the need for clear contract clauses in licensing agreements to prevent breach risks, while highlighting the critical importance of anti-cybersquatting measures to safeguard trademark rights. On enforcement strategies, he advised enterprises to leverage the high efficiency of administrative protection and compensation mechanisms in civil litigation to ensure their trademark rights remain uninfringed. The lecture offered a suite of practical trademark protection strategies, empowering businesses to defend their brand rights in competitive markets.
